Sophomore Semester 2 Video Reflection

Napoleon Dynamite: For this project we were assigned to recreate a movie trailer in about a month. Over this project we faced many challenge, but are biggest challenge was scheduling. With these challenges I learned many lessons about managing time and staying focused. After turning in the project we  feedback on camera angles and focusing shots. We did not change very much because by that point the project was over and there was not much we could do in the time allowed. I the end this video was not the best quality but it resembled the actual video well and we got done everything we needed to. Short Film: For this project we started by everyone writing synopsis, treatments, and scripts then we voted as a class picking five scripts we wanted to make. After getting our groups and scripts we started pre-production deciding shots, actors, and locations. For this project our time was very limited only having three weeks to do everything.  The biggest challenges we faced was actors and

Sophomore Semester Reflection 2

This semester in e-Comm we have worked on many different projects. The infographic, greeting cards, and logos were a few of my favorites. We started with the infographic which was a very long process and took the last few weeks in second quarter and the first week of third quarter. During this project one of the hardest things for me was coming up with an idea and graphics for that idea. During this project I learned a lot about organization and how important it in graphic design. Throughout the project I received feedback about fonts and colors: initially I didn't want to change anything but after trying out the colors and size oI changed the color of some of the text and color of the background. For the most part my idea stayed the same throughout the project. In the end I really liked my infographic but I think I could have done more complex graphics to push myself more.  Later this semester we worked on making greeting cards. This project took only two weeks, first we sta

Movie Trailer

The past few weeks in video we were challenged to recreate a movie trailer. My group was assigned the movie Napoleon Dynamite. We started by doing pre production. First we storyboarded, made lists of locations, characters, and probs and then screen recorded the video to break up each scene. Pre-production went well and we got it all done in plenty of time even though at times some of our group was very distracted. Next we got started on the filming process, which started off rough because we had to wait on our props. Once we started filming went smoothly. A lot of out clips were at school so that made it easy to film using class but it was very hard because of our schedules to film outside of school. The last few days before the video was due we finished our filming. When we were outside of school the group got very distracted but we finally got all our clips filmed. The editing process was very rushed and I think could have been better. I edited the clips we had a t school and I t

Vector project

For this project we had to choose or take a portrait of ourself, a family member, or a pet. I decided since I didn't really have a recent and clear picture of myself to take a picture of my brother and use him for my project. After sending the picture to our computer we had to put it in photoshop and posterize the image to make it easier to distinguish the different areas and tones to trace in Illustrator. we also had to make a copy to edit and a copy to just look at. Creating this project was really like no other project we have done. I ended up really liking the project but the process was very hard. first. I started by making the big shapes and filling them which was not a good idea I think I should have started with the details. Since I started with the base it looked odd when I added the details. I learned so much during this project about many tools and got to practice and learn lots of new skills. Overall this project was very challenging for me but it was one of my favo

Music Video

• Embed your work at the top of your blog post under your Title. These past few weeks in video we worked on recreating the Bet on It video from High School Musical 2. As a group we thought this video would be really fun to create and challenging in many ways. We also had a good idea for locations already so we thought it would be do able. We started with pre-production by dividing up the work to be efficient and effective because we wanted to have as much times as we could to film. We also decided Alex was going to act, Josh and Drew we going to mainly do the camera, and Maleah and I were going to help with choreography and making sure the video and our filming was the same and there wasn't anything weird going on. After we had footage we all edited together since we couldn't have everyone at the same time, so we had one person run editing and everyone else helping and we rotated the main editor. As a group I think we worked together really well and dealt with the issues w

typography project

These past few weeks in graphic design we have been working on quotes in Adobe Illustrator for our typography project. We started by researching to find quotes the we liked and related to our lives. we only had to find four but at first I didn't love any of my quotes so I found about 10 and then picked my favorite four from that. then we looked at  daft.com and found fonts that we wanted to download to use in our quotes. the part was hard because a lot of the fonts I liked were similar. After the research process we started actually creating our quotes on illustrator.  First I started by typing out all my quotes in the original font. After that I organized each word and change the font then I added black and white graphics. After turning this in I made all the quotes in color. I learned a lot through this about balance in each background and about the effect a border or background can have on the overall feel of the graphics. There was not much difference between working in color

semester reflection

This semester in video we did four major projects. My two favorite projects were the procedure video and ONW now story. Since the procedure video was our first video of the semester it took a little longer, we had about two weeks to do this video. As a group we faced many challenges with the new cameras and refreshing our editing abilities but after getting started our group did well. We were given a lot of feedback on our storyboarding and timing so we did the storyboard again with more details to have a better plan. Throughout this project I learned a lot about the new cameras and set expectations for video this year. With the cheer project we only had a week. With this project we did not face a lot of challenges our group picked a continent topic and used our time well. The only challenge was writing the voice over but we all worked together and finally got it done. In this project I learned a lot about team work and time management. Overall I think my videos turned out good some w
